Ankle and Foot Conditions We Treat

A high ankle sprain is more debilitating than a normal ankle sprain and differentiating the two is important. Physiotherapists use a range of treatments for high ankle sprains including bracing and taping, massage, dry needling, strengthening and mobility exercises and more.

A lateral ligament tear is one of the most common injuries in sports. It is often associated with sports including sharp changing in direction including netball and basketball, but is also extremely common in all football codes.

A stress fracture is a small crack in the bone that is usually a result of overuse or stress, found most often in weight bearing bones. The metatarsals are the group of bones in the foot that attached into the phalanges (toes). Your Physiotherapist will design a treatment plan to suit you.

Plantar Fasciitis is an overuse condition of the thick fibrous band of connective tissue (plantar fascia) underneath the foot at its attachment to the calcaneus (heel bone). Planter fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain.

Posterior ankle impingement is classified as an irritation or compression occurring at the back of the ankle where the tibia (shin bone) and talus (ankle bone) join.

Severs disease can be defined as a traction of the muscle-tendon unit of the calf on the apophysis (developmental outgrowth of bone) on the heel bone (calcaneus).
