At The Physio Movement (TPM Woopi), we work closely with many Woolgoolga dancers and Dance studios.
There are many reasons why dancers need to see a dance Physio. Unfortunately, it is often due to injury, but many dancers see us before an injury which is even better! We can help you minimise your risk of injury with an injury prevention program (strengthening program) or postural assessment.
Common reasons dancers visit a Physiotherapist:
- The dancer has been asked by their dance teacher to see a Physiotherapist for a pre pointe assessment
- The dancer is unsure if they are ready to commence dancing en pointe
- The dancer wishes to remain injury free whilst working on specific dance strengthening

Woolgoolga Dance Physio Pre-Pointe Assessment
At The Physio Movement we have a pre-pointe assessment which is designed from a Physiotherapist who understands the demands of ballet and pre pointe dancers. Our assessment has been created to asses the risk of injury to the dancer and determine how ready they are to commence pointe work, ensuring no injury.
Our Physio Dance Assessments include:
- Your Dance and injury history
- A Physical examination – (This will allow your Physiotherapist to measure your range of movement in your lower limb joints and to test your strength)
- A Functional examination
